While we are not planning a Mission Experience for 2008, we
are already making plans for 2009. We'll post more info as the
time gets closer. Meanwhile, please feel free to look over the
following information to see what the program is all about!
What is it?
The Young Disciple Mission Experience is a revolutionary way for
young people to acquire the tools and confidence they need to
share their faith in a public setting. It provides a unique
balance of preparation, training, and real-life experiences, all
aimed at developing the maximum leadership potential in each
participant.
Where is it?
The Mission Experience 2007 is planned to take place on the
island of Palawan in the Philippines, a location famous for its
pristine natural beauty and open-hearted, friendly people. Few
places on Earth offer visitors such a hearty, genuine welcome.
In return, the Mission Experience team will bring these precious
people the bread of life.
What will I do?
Each member of the team will participate
in one or more areas of evangelism:
Child Evangelism: This team will
conduct the childrens evangelistic series, including presenting
stories, health lessons, songs, and crafts.
DVD Evangelism: Youth members of
this team will present the evening sermons, using DVD materials.
Technical Support: Those serving in this area will assist
with photography, videography, PA, and/or media presentation.
Bible Work: This team will meet people in their homes,
inviting them to the meetings, offering Bible studies, and
visiting meeting attendees. They will also form the greeting
team at the evening meetings.
Medical Missionary Evangelism: This team will present
evening health talks using DVD materials, conduct door-to-door
health evangelism, assist with medical clinics and outpatient
surgeries, and use simple medical missionary skills to draw
people to Christ.
Accommodations & Meals
Accommodations will be in a simple house
or hotel equipped with basic toilet and shower facilities. Meals
will be vegetarian, nondairy, low-fat, and low-sugar. Any
special dietary needs are the responsibility of the participant.
