Ted tackles the task of packing! Just when he thought he was done, someone would bring him one more thing!

After a long flight over the Pacific Ocean, we arrive at the Taipei International Airport, Taiwan. We are all glad to have our feet on solid ground again.

When we arrive in Manila, several workers from the Adventist headquarters meet us at the airport. They load our luggage into the conference van. Soon we will be sleeping in real beds!

Papayas! Our first experience with native food! For some of us, the flavor was too new and unusual. That meant more for those who like it. Yummy!

Soon we arrive on the island of Palawan. After one night in the main city of Puerto Princesa, we pile into a bus to begin the
day-long trip to El Nido.

Along the way, we cross over many of these small creeks on rickety wooden bridges.  Many of the creeks don't even have bridges and they must be forded. It's amusing to hear the gasps and screeches from several of the young ladies!

We pass many of these huts. They are the typical style of homes—thatch roof, woven bamboo walls, open windows. When they start to fall apart, the people just go into the bush and return with the material they need.

Finally, we arrive in El Nido, at Cliffside Cottages, our new home for the next three weeks! When we walk through the gate, the church members from the new El Nido church present us with home-made ribbon leis and lead us to a table covered with a wonderful array of food.
