The Young Disciple Mission Experience is a teen mission trip, a training school, and an opportunity to acquire the tools and confidence needed to share your faith. In a safe and encouraging setting, Mission Experience youth become preachers, teachers, and evangelists, while capable staff serve as mentors.
The 2013 Mission Experience is scheduled to take place on the island of Palawan in the Philippines. The Philippines is the 12th most populous country, and its people are among the happiest on earth. Though surrounded by hardship, Filipino's seem to always have a friendly word and a warm smile, even for strangers. The island of Palawan is called the "Last Frontier" of the Philippines becasue of its pristine natural beauty, white sand beaches, and exotic wildlife. English is an official language and is widely spoken throughout the country.
Each Mission Experience participant will be a team member of one of the following two evangelism groups:
Each participant will also be in one or more of the following service bands:
Lodging will be in simple dorm-style rooms with shared toilet and shower facilities (boys and girls separate). Meals will be vegetarian, nondairy, low-fat, and low-sugar. Any special dietary needs are the responsibility of the participant.
(The following schedule is based on current information. Actual dates may change.)
Native-style cottages; soft, white, sandy beaches; colorful coral gardens; stunning tropical fish−that's what you can expect to experience on the Mission Experience Retreat. But that's not all. Most importantly, we'll spend time together recounting the ways the Lord has led during the trip, and exploring His will for the future.
